It's also incredible that "hello" wasn't used much before the 1830's. Things like that and this post make me wonder how future generations will greet each other. I'm guessing they'll just post "hi" on each other's Facebook walls from their iPhones when they meet in person.

Well first of all, Spalding Gray was a narcissist, and narcissists don't really feel anything, they're dead inside. So you really don't want any sort of Spalding moment. That would be grayer that you expected.

Secondly, Coachella is just another music festival. It's really more for underage kids who need a place to get drunk, or twentysomethings a place to do E.

You might see some cool or historic act, but it's not any sort of thoughtfully-designed happening that would invoke any sort of epiphany. It's just another really big concert, where you walk around aimlessly between sets, and crash in your tent or hotel room later.

Of course, Prince did go out and mix with the peasants in the camp the year he was there, but that was rare.

Just saying.

Although I feel bad for the little critters, I was fostering a cat who finally caught a giant rat that was living in a tree and running around my house. They like to leave the carcasses as gifts for you. That's why they are usually in your doorway when you get home.

Your sister Allison and I spent plenty of time at the Montvale Roller Rink. Never got kissed there, no blow jobs either, but did smoke cigarettes there. Mostly we just skated and hoped to be picked for a couples skate. Stacie sent me your blogs. Hi to Kate and Lester for me.
Best regards

yah, excellent!
and Kristen what you said is so true in music too eh?

You need to familiarize yourself with great screenwriters, just as you would great novelists. Find your favorite screenwriters and imitate them. Transcribe their work. Nora Ephron learned to write screenplays by transcribing William Goldman. I did the same with Ron Bass. Re-writing the work of others gets your brain moving in the right direction. It teaches you how to convey tone and how to hone construct. You will, of course, need to find your own voice, but at least you’ll have a solid foundation to build from.
